I need a new pair of gloves and was wondering if you guys can give me some suggestions. I've pretty much worn a pair of Joe Rocket Pit Stop gloves out. They have multiple holes in them. They are my warm weather/summer gloves. I'd like to upgrade to something with a bit more protection, but still comfortable in hot to warm weather. What's a good all-around glove I should be looking at?

    Thanks in advance!

Alpinestars GP Plus. yes they're pricey but very comfy and offer tons of protection.

Thanks Joey_Dude. Those gloves look really sweet. Not sure if I'm ready to drop close to 2 bills on a pair of gloves right now though.:smile:

Both of these pairs are very good without having to get too crazy on cost. The SP-1's offer a little more protection and better breathability then do the SP-2's, although I wouldn't say that the SP-2's ever get hot. Either pair should last for years, or at least mine have. Either pair will also get you on a track, which is something to consider if you're into that sort of thing. I would think about spending a little extra scratch on such an important piece of gear, just the fact that they last longer will save you some money in the long run. Plus your getting better, more reliable gear to begin with.

+1 on the Alpinestars GP Plus. they were great in the summer as long as the temps didnt get over 95. They worked well in 40 degree weather as well for short rides. I need a new pair since you can never get the smell of smoke out of leather...

Icon Pursuit. Wrecked with one pair, they were still useable but I got a new pair just for saftey. Haven't been able to actually "wear out" a pair of these yet though, great glove!!

    Ride Icon

And yes, I've worn the partial synthetic gloves before, they don't flow any more air, keep my hands any cooler than these, and I wear holes in them in a matter of months. Ya can't beat these gloves, especially for the price IMO

I like the Icon Merc shorty, Good protection and comfortable in most weather. probably wouldn't wear them in the cold, but they breath well. Been thinking of a long set when I'm ready to go back to the track.

    +3 on GP Plus

Believe you should have the right glove for the right occasion with comfort being nearly as important to safety as actual protection. Have had my GP Plus for nearly 3 years ( was a well worn SP2 before ) as my 53f to 85f dry weather Glove.

For colder temperatures or when wet use Alpinestars Gortex Tech Road or at higher than 86f temps wear Alpinestars Octane SuperMoto Glove's although while way way better than nothing ideally would like a little more cuff protection so have been eyeing off the newish Alpinestars GPX to insert into 77 to 92f days.

Anyone tried the Alpinestars GPX for warmer summers days yet ?

I have to add a +1 to the Alpinestars GP Plus glove. They fit and were comfortable from day one. They went down with me on my recent Dog vs. VFR incident and faired very well.

The GP Plus gloves are pricey. The SP2's look like a good option for about 1/2 the price.

I like the gauntlet style glove and gave my shorties away after I got my GP Plus.
