    "A parent should never outlive their children." While I have much respect for the talented young man, who I knew nothing about before this event (to my shame), I feel very badly for his father and family. I am especially awed by the strength of character his father showed with the FB post the day of the incident.

    I also echo the feeling for the young man who hit him, obviously of no fault of his own, a true racing incident, but that will not make it any easier.

    While I ache for the lost youth, I am heartbroken for those left behind.

    "Now cracks a noble heart. Good-night, sweet prince;
    And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest."

    In Memory of Peter Lenz

    To have the opportunity to feel the exhilaration and speed whether on two wheels or four is a blessing no matter how you look at it. Most people have to wait until they are adults to experience this, while some are born into it and others are just plain lucky.

    The tragedy that occasionally visits Motorsports and takes the very individuals that we look up to and cheer on every weekend at tracks across the nation will not pause, yet nor will it have the satisfaction of preventing those wanting to accept the challenge from taking to the track next weekend, or our encouraging of those individuals by attending en mass at each event either physically or be it televised.

    Peter was an amazing athlete for his age and showed a much anticipated thirst for the sport. In his honor will the young men of tomorrow pick up where he left off and ride into victory lane. Our thoughts and prayers go with his family, his crew, and all those who had the privilege of competing with him on and off the circuit.

    People can't say he wasn't living life to the fullest. He was doing what he loved most, being on his bike and riding...

    More talent in his little finger than I will probably ever have. My prayers go out to his family and anyone else that lost a friend, mentor or even just an inspirational figure on that day. God bless...
