    Hi everyone.

Just thought I'd drop a quick line and say hi.
I've just bought a 2005 red VFR800 and am waiting for her to be delivered. It's coming down from Qld in a couple of days.
My previous ride was a Shadow VT750, but was a bit too small, so low to the ground and just too upright. I'm a tall guy 6'3", and am looking forward to getting on the VFR, can't wait. (It'll be nice to be able to actually go around corners haha.)
Anyway g'day to you all and looking forward to sharing some pics and stories with you all when I get her.

    Cheers, Mik.

Welcome Mik. Just myself bought a 2004 Red VFR 800A. Traded my lumbering but comfy VTX 1800 for the vfer. Only 2300k miles on the VFR. Since you're a tall guy, u might want to look into some rider peg extensions that drop your legs down 2 inches I believe. Don't have the website but I think it might be MRA, not sure. Enjoy your new ride, I know I will.

Hey mik. Enjoy the long way home! "Don't they go" is certainly an understatement, esp. compared to your 750. Not quite so much for me coming from an 1800 VTX. Still a very radical departure. Like all powerful bikes, they command respect. Take care and ride safe.

Ok so took the long way home which is a country road with lots of nice bends, can't believe how much of a difference good suspension and ground clearence makes to my riding ability. Not that my riding abilty is much to speak of but now I just look round the bend and she drops in by herself, I don't have to do anything haha.
There's one particular bump on this road that would have my butt bouncing 4 inches out of my seat on my old bike and the Viffer barely noticed it. Awesome. F#ck I love this bike.
Went out again today on another twisty country road for about 100k's round trip. It was 17 deg C as we are just coming into spring here, no wind, nice afternoon sun at about 3.00 pm just perfect.
I haven't been able to get the grin off my face yet. What a fabulous ride the Viffer is, just fantastic.
Incidently she's an '05, Red with just 21,500 kilometres. Think we're in love.
Naphza you're right mate, she's definately got my respect, more mumbo than I will ever need, am taking it easy and riding safe. Cheers mate.

What I noticed most was how little input it takes to initiate a turn w the viffer, esp. compared to my 1800 vtx, where I had to def counter steer to get the bike started. VFR seems to just intuitively begin to lean. Actually, I find using a bit of knee pressure works very well, since my knees are right there in position anyway. Hope to pick up my VFR in a few days. Enjoy mate and keep the shiny side up!

Picking up the bike today at the end of the day, prolly around 4:30 P.M. I have Helibars and a ZG touring windscreen on order which should be in by the end of the week. You might say I'm a bit excited to make the move today as I thought it would take me longer to settle the payoff to release the title. However, the dealer is willing to wait for the title, about 3 or 4 weeks, but give me the bike beforehand. I'll get back to everyone after I put a few miles on, or is it smiles on. Either way I'm psyched.
