Really Honda? You can't include elastic straps?

I'm at roughly 600 miles on the new VFR1200F and am really enjoying it. She's been dyno'd, tracked, and ridden to and from work most days. I've been smiling the whole time.

No center-stand so I picked up the PitBull stand for maintenance.

Grabbed the tank bag because backpacks are a pain. It looks good, but I wish it had the clear top for maps. Oh well, a GPS is probably in my future.

I wanted hard bags for traveling, they retail for $1300, and there's a 2 month wait for them here in the US. Thankfully David Silver Spares had them in stock and they arrived in less than a week. Ordered last Friday, arrived today (Wednesday).

Why wouldn't the rear-hugger come stock? I think simply so they can make money off us buying it... The liners for the hard bags were ordered as well...

All of the above I've just written off as being the cost of accessorizing a new bike. I throw that kind of money at my race bike without blinking, so I've been a pretty good sport. What's really twisted my nipple is that while reading the installation instructions for the hard bags, they show the elastic that holds the liners in... And state that it's extra and must be ordered from Honda. Really? You can't include the elastic bands for the hard bags? When my liners arrive, if that shit isn't included I'm going to flip out... What should be optional is lube so I can sit on the bike after being bent over...

    Rant Over

Hugger: same as center stand, heated grips etc. So they can keep the price of the bike as low as possible and make money from us buying the accessories.
I got the top case since backpacks are a pain but....it does include elastic straps and awesome quality grabrails. I didn't get the liner. Just got a $20 bag to put in it. It's proven to be 100% waterproof anyway.
1500 miles on mine. Full power tomorrow.

The elastic came with my hardbags. I bought my hardbags for a pretty good discount from the dealer I bought the bike from. I wonder if the USA hardbags have the elastic retaining straps and the UK ones dont?

That sure still is a beautiful bike with bags on. I always felt it needed some red color on the rear, that's why I keep the top box on permanently. If the bags weren't so expensive...
I got my Aprilia Futura bags for free when I bought the bike new. They must be twice as big as the Honda's...

My UK bags didn't come with any elastic straps, and they're not shown in the official UK Honda accessories pages either! Hmmmm
