Hi: I wrote a while ago about my new 07 surging at cruise speeds. I had a good ride today, and had some open freeway to check this out. I have about 500 miles on her now. At 7,500 rpm, which is around 110 mph, the bike surges. It feels like the mixture is going rich and lean, on about 3 second cycles. It's like I'm on and off the gas. I can feel the vtec kick in at about 6,600 rpm. I don't think it's the vtec kicking in and out, as it's not as sharp as the acceleration increase when vtec kicks in.

Has anyone experienced this problem. It's under warranty, so I can take it back to the stealer, I just wondered if it was a common problem. Interstingly, earlier in the ride I was trucking along about 100 or just above, and didn't notice it. It's like the fuel flow is increasing and decreasing.

    Cheers
    John.

I just sold my '07 yesterday to the dealer I bought it from new. I had a Power Commander on it since May 2009. I took the PC off before selling the bike and I noticed a huge flat spot in the power delivery around the 7-8K rpm range after taking it off. Your surging might be what I'm describing. I remember some other folks complaining of this problem. I was amazed at how much the PC smoothes out the fueling.

I haven't noticed this either, but then I have a PC-III on mine. Maybe that's the answer!

Are you planning on selling that PC by chance?
