Hello, I recently purchased a '04 and it seems fall right on it's face when it hits around the 7k mark, which from what I understand is when the vtec kicks in. Does anyone have any suggestions on what it could be?

I did post this in the 6th gen section, but hopefully this one will get more traffic TIA

Lucy you got some splainin' to do

does it just fall flat on its face and doesnt want to go or just stumbles for a minute.
if its the first, test the V-tec solenoid & connections.

the 04 ( not sure what year they changed it ) should kick in about 6,800 rpm or if newer ECU then 6,400 rpm ( 06 and up )
you can download a manual on the site.

Gave this a bit of thought, must say +1 with 02. If it were my bike I would look at he V-tec solenoid first. It just chokes past 7k?

yes, it runs fine until it hits 6800/7000 rpm and literally wants to shut off, I can push the rpms higher but it isn't a smooth ride.

Is the bike stock or does it have a power commander?
