    Hello all !
*I guess I'm classified as an old owner looking to buy a new bike. *I am familiar with the VFR as I've owned two of them in the past. *Around 1992 I had an '86 VFR and in 2004 I had an '02. *Both bikes were awesome. *I rode that '02 through 14 states from Missouri to New York in five days, and other than some knots between my shoulderblades, can't say a bad word about it. I've owned over 20 bikes in my day ... ALL of them... Harleys, standards, UJMs, dual sports, retro, thumper, v-twin, v-four, parallel twin, inline four, two stroke *and the VFR turned out to be the king of them all. * I sold it to continue exploring other machines a few years ago and now I'm looking to replace it... to finally choose one bike for all time. Be a faithful, one-bike kinda guy. Let's say that I'm done with the dating game and now I'm ready to settle down.... which has brought me here.*
** I think I'd like to explore the sight a bit, gather some info while I'm waiting for my current bike to sell and then choose one of the bikes in the classified to buy, 6th gen.
    **See y'all around!

Thank you for the welcome. Hey wrestler, that looks like a Triumph Thruxton in the background of your pic, no? I bought a Scrambler and decided after that I shoulda went with the Thruxton, so I did a café conversion on it. Solo seat, m-bars, rearsets, 8" chrome bucket headlamp, Lasertec tires, flyscreen, Union Jack painted on the tank, etc etc, the works. It was a fun project and an interesting bike. Unique with that parallel twin. Sold it to a guy in Texas last winter and picked up a '96 SecaII that needed restoration.

Yeah -- the good bikes keep drawing you back don't they? My current bike is my third Yamaha SecaII. It's by no means legendary, famous or even well remembered ( and only sold in the U.S. from '92 - '98 ) but still just a great lightweight and all round fun bike that I keep returning to. I've had two Suzuki DR650's over time and this will be my third VFR -- second 6th gen, as soon as I find it.

    Welcome to the site Scott!

You shouldn't have too much trouble locating a nice used example either here or on the infamous Craigslist. There are tons of bikes on the market and this time of year you will be in the drivers seat. happy hunting!

I prefer owner/enthusiast forums like this one for buying. Seem to always be better quality and better maintained machines from people who join forums for their bikes. ( unfortunately, enthusiasts usually think their bikes are worth more than they actually are, but that can be addressed in the deal )
I've never felt comfortable with craigslist, too easy for con-men and idiot posers to sell junk unregulated and without any trail. (Of course, I'm going to try and sell my SecaII on craigslist though. but I'M different !!!

Well, I'm back in! Just picked up an immaculate '07 RWB with 4,200 miles and 8 months left on the original warranty. Must have been meant to be, after thorough search on this site, eBay AND craigslist, coast to coast, for this exact year and color, with certain mileage limits I would accept and price limits, the bike ended up being in the next town over from my house. AND after spewing my exact opinion about craigslist -- that's where I ended up buying it. :)
Only had time to ride it the short hop home, throw it in the garage and run to work, but I'm excited and feel good to have another 6th gen. I didn't remember the steering being so heavy, but it will be fine after a few rides. Must be, because I put alot of good mikes on the last one and don't remember thinking that.
