Well, little bit of an update... I haven't gotten much done on the bike lately, as I finally got called back to work (which is awesome, having worked about a month out of the last year) and have been playing a bit of financial catch-up since. Fortunately I hadn't gotten myself much at all in the hole, so this will avail some $$ for the stuff I need. My car also got completely raped for about 25-30 mins with golf-ball sized hail, so that should probably end up in a pretty reasonable check, as I can do the body work myself, and some of the panels on the car I intended to replace eventually anyways with either carbon fiber or fiberglass parts. Soooo, long story short, sometime soon I should be able to get back to making some headway. ferrarone, if you still have the engine sitting around I'd love to see what we could do as far as hooking that up. Hope you're all doing well, and enjoying the summer while it lasts (been hotter than hell here the past few weeks, haven't got much riding in at all :(... ) Is what it is. T/C.

Well, not a whole hell of a lot to report... getting some different ideas together in regards for how to redo this mess of a monster that I have going on now. I know there are a number of changes I will be making appearance-wise, which I know will probably piss off some of the purists, but I will say this... This bike was bound for the dumpster if I didn't take it, and I'm building it for me, not you. So any help along the way will be greatly appreciated, flaming will not be dignified with a response. I have gotten back to work on it a little bit, going through, and cleaning up a lot of the parts that I will be re-using. I will be selling off the engine components I have, for the most part, and have 2 engine's worth of a lot of things, i.e. transmission, gears, clutches, alternators, (2x stator, but only 1 rotor, I believe.) and a few spare rods and pistons that can probably be cleaned up and re-used. My plan at the moment is to hopefully make enough selling the bits I will not be re-using to recoup most, if not all of the cost of finding a working motor and carbs on eBay.

I have no delusions of getting this thing up and running overnight, a: it's almost winter here, and the bike isn't even at my house, and at present in an insulated, but not heated garage... was thinking of finding a decent LP heater for my folks and buying it as a gift, since there's a gas line accessible behind the garage already for the pool heater. I am playing with a number of ideas at the moment, mostly in the body department, as I don't have much money for much else atm, so I'm working with what I have now, and what I can afford to do.

Plans include changing pretty much all of the fairings to some degree, to clean up some of the body lines, and somewhat modernize it. I'm hoping to retain the feel of the original bike to a fairly large degree, but change things in such a way that it will perk curiousity, and will not feel like I took something and just trashed it. I'm recycling as much as I can as well, as that's important to me personally. So yeah, that's pretty vague, but then again, that's kinda where I'm at with it. Just an update, and I will be doing a lot of poking around others' threads as well, to get inspiration and ideas, and hopefully make some friends in the process :) Anywho, you folks have been great so far, so many thanks! Back with something more substantial soon :D
