Hi! I'm Ocasio from North Alabama. I own a Yellow 2000 Honda VFR800F1 Interceptor and ride it to work every dry day.

I want to extend my greetings to all bike riders out there and hope that I can be a positive contributor to these forums. I'm glad I finally found a VFR only site.

    Later,

    O

Thanks for the welcome! I don't mind saying that I live in Huntsville, Alabama; the foothills of the smokies. Lotsa twisties fere for even blind folk. I'm sure i have past a few blind 4-wheeled drivers but not bikers, heh!

However, I tend to be a little blind if I ride after dark due to mmy mirrored, tinted visor. I try not to do that much.

Hwy 25 between Leeds and Vandiver, about 2 hrs. from you. You definately need a little ride time. MSF Course?
Is Reg really blind? How's that Radar work?

:welcome: to the V4, You have bought the arguable the best generation VFR so your obviously a highly intelligent man. My first modification would be Staintune pipes and then the Sargent seat, man what a difference those two modifications make

P.S. I'm guessing that Ocasio updated his profile after Reg posted, Reg wouldn't make a mistake like that unless he is still in vacation mode

yeah it was actually his post that prompted me to update my profile. i was a freshly noob when he posted. Thanks again guys for the warm welcome. I live and work in the Huntsville area near the Corp of Engineers office.

As for the model VFR I have, it belonged to my bud who really does his homework. He kept it garage kept for 5 years +/- and hardly rode it due to inexperience. he bought a new BMW GS 650 dual sport and I am hoping to change his experience level along with my own. I have ridden cruisers long ago and this is my first street bike...it is perfect for me!

Greetings Ocasio, a Sargent saddle is a great improvement, the best mod for me was Race Tech springs and such, and a Penske shock, completely changed the bike! I've not ridden in your part of the US but would love to someday. cheers!

    Race tech Valves and springs

I'm so used to riding shitty bikes w/shitty suspension, Racetech gold valves and springs make my 95 ride like it's on rails!:first:

Yes, new suspension parts are a big difference, my bike handles better now than it was new.The first thing I noticed was alot of bumps and road irregularities were transmitted directly to my hands wth the stock suspension, that has been greatly reduced with the Race Tech setup, also twisty roads are much funner now, the bike is much more settled in the curving stuff.I think new suspension is the best mod for a vfr.

    Wow, thanks!

Those are great tips. Can't wait til after Xmas so I can afford. :p

I have been having some great riding days here and am really getting used to how the bike can spoil its rider. Getting those mods would prolly cause me to propose to my veefer!

I suppose my next purchase is a new back tire so I can have more meat on it. The bike has a total of 4000 miles on it and needs a new tire. I am going to go with a 190x55xR17. Instead of my stock 180X50xR17.

    Ciao
