Ti VS. Carbon Fiber Exhaust

Ok, here's the issue. I plan on getting a high mount exhaust cannister for my '96, and have narrowed it down to 2 different materials. Titaniun, or Carbon Fiber. What I would like is to know the pros and cons of each. so far this is what I have come up with.

Titanium is light, gets hot, and turns color with age/use.

Carbon fiber is light as well, doesn't get hot, sounds a little different(not too much, but noticable), but can fade in the sun(happened to a friend of mine in Vegas).

I take my wife along for the occassional ride, and she's short. So the CF has an advantage there, as she's less likely to have her leg burnt. Has anyone had any issues with their CF fading on them? Any advice/experience/tips/hints/nuggets of info will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!

 

several of my buddies have had CF on their bikes for the past year. both bikes are garaged. we have not noticed any fading as yet. how long was your freinds in the sun. and isn't Vegas in the freakin desert. lots o sun there I'm sure. as for me, I am saving to buy a CF Micron for my baby. i am still amazed how cool a CF is even running

 

True, the CF will fade in the sun. Had a CF Two Brothers that was practically like new and garaged, but even the time that it was in the sun started to fade it. But one problem that I've seen with Titanium is that the exhaust may tend to slip forward or backward over time and expose an area that almost looks polished where the rubber mount was originally. Then you move it back to the original position and get a larger rubbed area that will show now matter what. It may just have been a coincidence on that bike though. If you have a frequent rider, I would probably go for the CF for their sake. I like the Titanium though.
