When i first start my 99 800, occasionally it quits. the lights remain "on" as well as the Fi light and cannot re-start until the Fi light goes out (and a short electrical sound is done). I've checked and is not related to the stand switch. I've also noticed that sometime, when the Fi light glows, the short electrical sound does not come on for perhaps 3 seconds, then starts, stops, the light goes out and can start again as if nothing happened. Also, this pretty well happens when its just warming up or within 2-3 minutes of riding. It does not happen all the time but often enough to cause me severe discomfort in the lower anatomical region. Any help?

    Luc,

You should be aware that the major problem with these bikes is the charging system.

I would check the battery and regualtor first.

There are tons of feedback about this number one problem on this website.
