I am looking at the v35 cases for my 2000 vfr. They don't make a plx rack for it specifically, but I'm not too worried about making some hand built brakets. I'm more interested in how the bags would fit/look on the 5th gen.

Has anyone mounted them on a 5th gen yet?

Or does anyone in the Phoenix area have a set of v35 cases that would be willing to meet me so I can hold them up to the bike and get a good idea for what they would look like?

When I was looking at hard cases, I called Givi. They emphatically stated the V35's are for bike that use under tail exhaust. I suppose you could try to fab brackets, but I don't think you'll be happy with the results. Givi E36's are your best bet for 5th Gen's.

    KC-10 FE out...

Here they are on a 6G. I don't think they'd work too well on the 5G. The E360's with tubular or Wingrack mount is your best bet.

thanks for the opinions. As I was asking, if anyone has a set that wouldn't mind meeting me so we could hold them up to the bike and see how high they would need to mount to clear the exhaust. Fabricating mounting bracketry is not a problem. I just want to see how they would look.

BTW they sell them and mount kits for bikes without underseat exhausts.

Did you make any progress? I am wanting to do the same thing, and found your thread. I also am not concerned with modifying a set of brackets to fit...

    V35's on a 1999 VFR800

I Have installed a set of V35's on my 1999 VFR. I have a high mount Micron Oval exhaust that I had to bracket around, however I am going to redesign the brackets closer to the tail section. The very design of the V35's is such as to allow installation along the sides of the tail section. To do this this I have to mount the exhaust low mount. I will redesign the brackets this winter and install in the spring.
As for the Givi V35's I had them on two long trips last summer and I would not leave home without them. If I can understand how to send a photo of the bile I will.

Thank you for the reply. I have been waiting for a long time for someone to respond. If you could show me the bracket that goes under the corbin cowl I would apreciate it. Can you rotate the bags backward at all, or is the rear bracket dictating the angle?

    Nice job RC46ON!
Can you post another pic showing both bags from the rear.
Also, what bracket set did you start with for modifying? Were you able to use any of the mounting points, or, custom on all points? I want to fab up something this winter!!!

I'd like to know how you made the mounting brackets as well. It looks like I'll be picking up a 5th-gen within the next few weeks, and hard bags are pretty high on my list. The V35s are definitely the best-looking of the Givi line, and they'd be my first choice if it were possible to mount them.
