Thanks Reg. Yeah, I think it was the fact that I haven't been riding it a lot lately. I put on 5000 this summer, but school has been keeping me more than busy and the weather isn't helping much here in Indiana either. Plus, I have been so busy that I have gotten out of my workout routine and I pretty well just sit around and do homework all the time. I think that is the main problem! I'll probably stick with the Corbin and try getting off my butt more! Thanks for the comparison though.

    Motorcyclist long term VFR

Check out motorcyclist Dec. 06 issue. Doing time VFR review - ringleader Estes.

He added Sargent seat, Staintunes, and helibars.

He reports that he's pretty pleased.

I bought my bike with the sargent seat on it already. Rode five and a half hours on it with no butt pain or leg pain at all

RW thanks for the info. I make take you up on that. Getting things shipped into Canada can be a pain. Customs duties extra shipping charges etc. etc. I will let you know.

Sargent is exceptionally comfortable on my '05 model. Compared to the stock seat, the Sargent's bucket shape keeps you from sliding into the tank. Also, Sargent's upholstery is not as "grippy" as the factory stuff (making it easier to move around on a long trip). Seat height is about the same.

Never had a Corbin on a VFR, but I did have Corbin seats on my SV1000. Contrary to a lot of the comments above, the Corbin was all-day comfortable and fit perfectly. Corbin's customer service was excellent. I received my seats about a week after ordering them.

I purchased both a Sargent and a Corbin for my 2002 vfr. There is no comparison, first off even though there is a breakin on the corbin it is better right away. the sargent is basically a widened version of the stocker with better looks. Spend your money on a seat that has far more years in on the r&d department. Corbin knows how to make a seat fit right, and as far as the weight of the Corbin, this adds to the support of the foam and you feel it! i'll take an extra pound to ride a few miles further without having the bum going pins and needles. I test rode both on the same 50 mile route, Corbin came out a big winner.
Everyone's differant so maybe a sargent is for you, just not for me.

I bought a Sargent this winter and have put about 2,000 miles on it with a couple 400 mile rides. In my opinion its better than the stock seat but not much. My butt starts to feel it after a couple hours, maybe I'm more sensitive than most. It does look alot better, though. I have a Corbin on my Valkyrie, and I think it's a little more comfortable than the Sargent but not by a lot - I use a sheepskin cover on longer rides.

I just bought my '01 not long ago and it has the Sargent seat and I love it. I'm a little dude with no butt. LOL The seat is actually shaped for a butt unlike the stock seat.

.........i just got a sargent the other day...havent put much time on it yet..but(butt) my first impression is that it gives me better support,it seems a tad lower and is in general more comfy than the stock seat....i took a short spin last night (been raining all weekend& its chilly here)..took a ride on the backroads and probably did 50 miles before i dis-mounted to put a vest on under my jacket.....the thing i noticed most was that with my stock seat, once my ass started to hurt it didnt take long to keep hurting...with the NEW sargent....it was MUCH better..pretty much totally refreshed and good to go...im hoping for better weather soon...so i can take a much longer run...
