I recently drove my 1994 VFR to a few thousand kilometers and have since been residing in Montreal. I've started to notice that the frame itself closer to ground is getting searingly hot, enough to burn skin.
The bike itself isn't overheating and runs fine, although it does pop quite a bit while decellerating which makes me think the exhaust gaskets are leaking but I can't feel any escaping exhaust around the headers.

The bike has over 100,000km on what i'm sure is original exhaust components but I want to know what kind of heat the engine normally transfers into the frame of a properly running 4th gen VFR?

After reading up on it I guess they're all like that, I don't know how I never noticed it before but I guess it doesn't matter.

indeed they are... you can put a manual switch on the fan, run thinner oil, run engine ice etc... but nothing to worry about

My 07 was running 225 to 230 in June/July in Arizona. I had put a exhaust system and K&N air filter on it. It was running LEAN! Put a power comander on it and dyno tuned it and the temps came down. It now runs 205.
