    Alright i noticed today that switching in between high's and low's that if i held the switch right in the middle Both would come on at the same time. It was awesome because im constantly switching between the two because my high's shine so far up it doesnt illuminate right in front of the bike like the lows do. I would like to adjust them down a little but if i could have the best of both worlds that would be even better. any ideas guys? How would you wire that up also would that be bad for the bulbs or wiring(due to the amp draw?)
    thanks guys.

    I think there's something wrong with your switch, I belive they SHOULD both be on at the same time for the very reasons you want them to be.

    I wish someone else on here had some imput. after Reading an old thread. someone said 6th gen bike the lows stay on when you switch on the highs but 5th gen bike the lows dont stay on,.(i have no idea about other years) So anyone have an idea how to wire/modify it so both come on. That is without starting a fire :p

    That is because 6th gen has 4 separate bulbs (two for low, and two for high), and a 5th gen has two bulbs total...each with two filaments. That is why the 5th cannot have both highs and lows on at the same time. If I remember correctly, all of your lights (highs and lows) should be on when your high beams are on.

    Please be clear in your posts.
    In his original post he said his lows and highs DID all stay on together if he held the switch just so, so the bulbs obviously can, it's just in the design of the switch.

    If you recall correctly, then he is not observing what he stated to have observed.
    <sorry, feeling like a smartass today>

    there are knobs inside your fairing to adjust your headlights aim I do believe. Aim the bike at your garage door and turn the knobs to raise or lower the beam.

    okay to clarify i CAN get both filaments to come on at the same time if i hold the switch just in between the two points.(basicaly impossible to do while riding) this is what i would like it to do all the time. that way i dont have to constantly be switching between highs and lows while riding at night.
    thanks

    On my 2000 (5th gen) the left is low beam and is on all the time. The right is high beam and turns on and off with the switch, it does not affect the left light at all.
    Hope that helps.:cool:
