stuck n first

    vfr800 2000 problem once first gear is selected lever will not go into second no matter how much pressure you put on selector lever clutch has just been done as i thought this was the problem honda quoted 2 1/2 hours to look at it but wont say what they think it is would be gratefull for any help

    You need to remove the shifter and see if the drum will turn manually, your problem may be in the shift mechanism itself but you need to remove it to find out if it has a problem or if it is more serious.

    I've seen a problem where the adjuster had loosened on the shifter mechanism, not physically allowing enough movement to shift the transmission. So take a look around the shift lever to see if everything is tight and in the correct position.
