Hi Peoples, This maybe a stupid question but here goes. On the 2009 vfr800 there are some trim clips that hold different cowls and panels together, now I need to buy a few to fix up some ones that broke. So where's the best place to get them? Would put up a pic of them if a had one.
i don't know the size our bikes use, but here is a link to some trim clips. Mad4bikes Motorcycle parts & Accessories, Givi Luggage, Battery & Exhaust Specialists not sure how much shipping would be to you.
Gday SJC. Best place is to order them through your local Honda Dealer. I would advise getting 10 or so as they tend to be flimsy and break pretty easy. Bought my bike from a guy in Sydney and he shipped it up to me with about 8 genuine Honda part # 90683-GAZ-003 spares stashed under the seat.
The fastener on the right is an OEM item from my 07 Honda VFR Interceptor. They are a common fastener used on Honda bikes and seem to be pretty easy to brake. They run nearly $3 each at the dealer. The fastener on the left is a "GM Push Type" (Ret. 1/4"; hole, TR 240B), which I ordered from thefastenerwarehouse.com at about 24 cents each (minimum order 100 to get the best price - $24.00 with shipping). You can get them for about 90 cents each for a fewer quantity. The GM Type are a good fit on the VFR, with no mods needed (no expanding the hole) and are a lot heavier-duty than the Honda clips.
I've taken to ordering well nuts combined with stainless screws, much more durable solution at a lower price!
did a search of the part number 21077123 on ebay and you can get a 25pkg for 6.50 free shipping thx for the info SJC.. awesome!!
The "GM" Clips are too large for the hole, by enough that you can't engage the center pin and actually secure them. This is what you need for the body plastics and inner trim panels --BOLT Motorcycle Hardware--
