One for the 5th gen owners with Y2K bikes..took a trip down to my local Honda service reps with the following question 'how much for the OEM fuel filter for the Y2K VFR guys and by the way - where has Mr Honda hidden it cos I cant find it!'

Answer from the servicing guru after much head scratching and surfing the service specs/catalogue: 'Ah well, you dont have one for that model'.

    What the??!!

With over 20,000 km since having picked up the bike and not a hint of any problems stemming from dirty fuel, has Honda done something wickedly clever or have I just been dead lucky:confused:

As always, any advice would be much appreciated!

    Cheers,

Hi, just had a look at parts catologue and part number is 16900-MBG-013 and is located among the fuel pump assembly that seems possibly attached to under side of fuel tank. Price is about the $80-$90 mark. Hope this helps.

Yeah, I went to service honda's online fiche system. It's gonna be right next to the fuel pump and looks to be under the tank. I have a 93 and I just went to the auto parts store and got one of those see-thru type of filters that has the replaceable element. Works just as good and did not break the bank. But then that's me.
