I have a 08 VFR with Heli bars. I asking for advise on additional wind protection. I and considering the MRA double bubble and the Puig sport touring. I did mount a Zerogravity ST on my bike, but thought it looked hideous. Thanks...

that's the drawback to any touring shield. they just wont look as good as stock. I guess the double bubble is the best I have seen for looks that gets the air up a little bit, but the fit of the Givi shield is as good as stock. It just looks goofy IMO.

I'm thinking of adding something along these lines too. With the sexy factor workin' for me as far as the stock look goes, I'd still like to push some air up over my huge mellon while I cut my path on the So Cal freeways. I get pushed around quite a bit in the carpool lane once I get up to subsonic speeds! What are the factors/criteria for VFR windscreens?

I don't think there are any good answers to wind "protection" for the 6th Gen. I've tried the Puig sport touring (still have it in the box...) and the MRA adjustable (Vario something or the other...). The MRA has very smooth airflow, higher than stock, but I still get bugs on my faceshield. The Puig wasn't bad, but the MRA is better for me.

Thanks for the replys. I'm leaning towards the MRA double bubble due to the sporty looks and its an inch and a half taller...

I don't mind the look of my smoked MRA Vario Touring screen at all. It kinda has a sophisticated look IMO. When the adjustable visor is up you can definitely see it but the pay off is well worth the looks. If you have your bags on with a tank bag it all flows together and looks like a sporty touring machine. Get what your gonna like looking at and what works. I got lucky that the MRA works for me.

I ended up using the smoked MRA double bouble. It's an improvement in the airflow and kinda looks neat.
    Thanks to all who replied...

Anyone here have the Givi? It seems like it's more touring and thus looks like it might move the air a bit higher. Currently, I have to lay on the tank if I want to get my mellon out of the wind. Found it for $104 best price, so far. I'm a freeway (highway) driver M-F, twisties Sat and/or Sun.

I just installed the ZG double bubble and I love it
I don't think it takes away from the look at all, in fact I like it better than stock.

Aside from looks, I can't believe the difference it makes compared to the stock screen.

I've got the Givi touring screen. It took the air from my neck (with the stock screen) to the top of my helmet. I'm 6' tall. I recommend it for touring and the look is fine. Like you, I'm highway M-F.

I also have used the Givi "Spoiler" Windscreen, part number D200s, on my 5th gen for several years.

    http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/703/294/

I'm 5'11" tall and it works for me. I read somewhere that some of the MotoGP teams tried a similar

windscreen and got a 3 mph higher top speed. My guess is that the taller windscreen is much smoother

and more aerodynamic than the rider's leathers. I still wonder why the GP bikes don't use larger

windscreens like they use to. I think it would be a blast to also see some "dustbin" fairings make

a reappearance on the tracks. Too bad FIM banned them in 1958. Maybe side winds were too dangerous.

Do you have any photos of your bike with the touring windscreen on it? I know you didnt like it but I haven't seen it yet. Have you found any others?
