This is my first post, I have been a member on VFRD for a few years. But no one seems to know over there. Thought I might try you boys over here.

I am installing a CCS-100 cruise control on my 93. I have it mounted and wiring run, but cannot figure out a way to mount the servo to the throttle. I have tried hooking a wire to the barrel connector that is already on the throttle but the clearances are too tight. I then tried to JD weld a bolt on to the center of the pulley to be able to attach a lever arm and connect the servo that way. I have tried twice after letting the JB weld fully cure and can't get it to stick. Even just turning the bolt hand tight will make it come loose.

I'm all out of ideas. I can't think of any way to get this hooker mounted onto the throttle. So if any of you have an idea or have done this, please please share. I'm wanting to get this done so I can move a whole bike to Oklahoma next week instead of pieces.

    Thanks guys

If you have pictures it would be helpfull for brainstorming and determining a good solution.

I'm having a hard time getting my pictures to upload. I'll post some up later. The servo cable runs in with the throttle cable. The manual suggests having a longer throw, so I was really hoping the lever arm would work. But it seems I found the only thing JB weld won't stick to.

If the cruise cable runs along with the throttle cable the easiest solution may be to remove enough of the stock throttle cables sheilding down by the engine that you could clamp the two cables together and basically let the stock cable do all the work from there, just a brain fart.

Here's the throttle pulley. I'll try to get some more shots of other positions.

I tried to jb weld a bolt to stick out of the center. But it wouldn't stick, unless I'm mixing it wrong.

if the shaft goes all the way through to the other side then you might be able to work something out on that side.

Is the cruise control cable long enough that you could solder the two together?

My soldering skills are amazingly lacking. Plus I don't think that it would reach. The manual calls for a beaded chain to go in between the cable and the pulley to give the cable to room when using the throttle manually.

What about drilling a hole through the end of the pull cable and then using some kind of small clevis you could hook the chain to? Using the same method you could also drill a hole through the pulley itself.

It's a tight squeeze on the pulley between the middle and the cable. Might be tough to drill. I'm not sure I follow you on you're first idea.

Here's a pic of what I have left in the box. I can also to SOME basic fabbing if I need.

can you get a picture of the throttle pulley at the 1/4 to 1/2 throttle position?

Looks like if you could drill the throttle pulley, you could attach the bar (4th from right), then attach the other piece that you were trying to put in the center. You may have to bend the bar a little, like into a "s" shape to move it away from the pulley a little. Might work.

then take your cable mount and move it to the push cable so the cruise cable and pull cable are side be side and it should line up and you wont have to use the arm
