^^^^^^^^Dang it! Beat me to it! ^^^^^^^^

I had this old guy stop me the other day and have a 20 minute conversation about his 86 RWB in a parking lot. He almost broke down and cried he missed his old bike so much. The guy had to be in his 80's but he recognized the RWB 2007 and had to talk to me. When I pulled out of the lot he blocked traffic with his car so I could get out of my space. He rolled his window down so he could hear the full sound of the mighty V4 as I pulled away. I guess he died happy that night!

I'll take my tin foil hat in a 7 5/8's please...

    "Nice bike! What is it?"
"Honda VFR. Most people know it as an interceptor."
    "Is that a 1000?"
    "No, it's a weirdo. 800."

At this point, it's either "ride safe", a general discussion about the bike, or a discussion about their bike(s).

Everybody thinks she's a 1000cc. I've heared Ducati, I've heared Moto Guzzi. Nobody belives she's a Honda, even with the giant wings and "HONDA" right there on the tank! Must have been the exquisite body lines, the screaming red, the single side swingarm, the dual undertail exhaust, all the same things I love about my VFR makes everyone think she ain't no Honda, strange

Most people who ride but don't see what I ride, and ask me, have no clue what a Honda VFR800 Interceptor sport tourer is. They just nod unknowingly.

I get people thinking its a ducati too. I mean, with the italian red paint, pretty plastics and single side swingarm, I wouldn't blame them.

And before I bought my VFR I didn't even know it existed and I was really close to buying a CBR1kRR. Thankfully I have a friend familiar with bikes and he recommended the VFR and the rest is history!

The funniest one was whne I met up with the kid that bought my 95RR - "look at that! A single swing arm, just like a Duc!" "what the hell is a VFR?" to one mechanic around here "a referigerator with wheels"

but the funniest has to be on the wife's Can-Am, which they start asking me about it. "I don't know. It's not mine." but the funniest ever was from some drunk dude "is that thing front wheel drive?" which she didn't hear him and just yelled back "yeah" before tearing off. I about fell over from laughing so hard.

Same here. We have many bycyclists in CO who also ride motorcycles. I can't tell you how many times I've passed bike riders only to have them catch up to me at a red light in one small town or another. Their comments always lean to, " I wondered what type of bike that was and assumed it was Ducati because I'll I noticed was the single swingarm and the throaty sound"

I am proud of how good my 1990 looks for being 20 years old, but with the sssa and a few other "before its time" aesthetics, people that don't know bikes assume its late 90's or early 2000's. I get
"what year is that?" all the time.
Then, of course "NO WAY!" when I tell them the year.
There is always a dissapointed "Oh..." when I tell them its a 750 tho.
    Like I care :)~
