    The sidestand just cuts power to the starter. It won't kill the lights or gauges.

    What are you using for the ground point, when you take your readings? Does the starter engage when you jump the relay?

    This is starting to look tricky, but it is probably something simple that we are missing. If you have power at all points of fuse box, the only thing common, besides the ign sw/, is the ground.

    all power through fuse box, yes when i jump it it engages, turns the engine the lights on the gauges even come on , as far as a ground goes ive tried the neg battery terminal the frame ground and grounded bolts on the frame and what not thinking it might change a reading or something but to no avail

    This is not making sense to me. Jumping the starter relay should not make your lights come on. There should be a direct connection at all times, for that cct. If I didn't read the rest of your posts, I would conclude from this, that the starter relay is connected backwards. The only other possibility, would be a bad ground at the battery, that is overcome by the increased current draw of the starter.

    Never thought about installing the relay backwards. I think you may have found the problem.

    ITS ALIVE!!!!! ITS ALIVE!!!!!!!! WOOO HOOOOO and the vance and hines is roaring ok so heres what happened im a dumbass when i got the new relay i didnt pay attention and got in a hurry and put the starter motor wire on the B terminal of the relay B being battery and the battery cable on the M terminal of the relay> now to my defense it is different hook ups and everything and i copied them from the old relay to this but they were different and i crossed those two. im a dumbass, but thanks guys at least i know who to ask if i have anymore problems

    I'm a little confused how you were getting 12V at the switch and fuse box, but who gives a flyin' puck, it's working now and that's all that really matters.

    sure thing! we have a tradition in the garage if you do somethin wrong or dumb like with the relay or somethin that you cant figure out you get a kick in the ass so i took three for it so one more wont hurt, but thanks alot you guys
