Welcome to the world. If memory serves me its seat latch was connected to the helmet lock key. That parts bee long ago modded off the Gen 3 in my garage.

So. A roughly 19 year old bike with ony 15,000 miles on it? What did the previous owner do in his spare time, plant pansies? That my friend is still a brand new bike. FYI, there is a manual in PDF farmat somewhere on this forum if you soend a little time using the search engine.

I took a vote just now involving everyone in my kitchen. I all agreed you need to post some pix. For all I know, you could have a 92!

yeh great bike, great generation, I think they really had the pressure on them when they designed it after the cam disasters with the earlier models. Solid solid bike, my 92 is gona hit 75,000 and I have owned it since 1995. I bought it with 4,000 clams. I ride it fast on the expressway and go by much new machines, kinda makes me laugh in my lid. Well cheers.

To get the seat off put the key in the helmet lock and turn, then pull the little lever that is attached andpull. it helps if you put a little pressure on the back of the seat ..takes some pressure off latch.. nice bike......love the Gen 3.

I like it! I have a real soft spot for the older VFRs.
