I am trying to outfit my 2k Yellow VFR with saddlebags, tank bag and maybe a tailbag. I also want and need a good backpak. I have pretty much decided on the Chase Harper Stealth Saddlebags and the Icon Urban Tankbag. I am curious if anyone is using the Chase Harper Saddlebags on their VFR and if there is any wind buffering problems and if there is any problem with magnetic tank bags staying on the bike at highway speeds. Finally is there a tail bag that anyone would recommend - something that looks kinda attractive. Thanx in advance.

I dont know what your budget is but the ventura pack system is by far the best setup for a soft type bag system. The system includes rails that mount in place on your grab handles (a 5 minute job) and then the pack goes on/off in 10 seconds and is secure and wont come loose. I have used these for a least 7-8 years on multiple bikes and doubt I will use anything else.

I have a Tecknic magnetic tank bag. It stays in place so good, that when I have to move it to fill up with gas, it takes a good tug to get it off. Mine has plenty of room. I use it when I go to work. Because I have to take almost a change of clothes, it fits a pair of shoes, makeup, small wallet, bottle of water, eyeglass case, a few other things, and if I need it a sweater. Plus it has a clear panel on top for maps & such, a rain gauntlet and a spot for my EZpass. Best money I have spent. Got it from JCWhitney.

Hey Mello dude and Bike51 - Thanx for the reply to my post and the information. I have checked out the Ventura system and it is very good and secure and not to expensive. The only problem is it is not at all complementary to the VFR's good looks (I just gotta look good to ride good - crazy huh?). I would actually like the Beetle Bags (some people think they take away from the VFR's good looks), and will wait to get a good deal on those. I have basically decided on getting the Chase Harper Stealth Series Saddle Bags which I can also use on my Suzuki Intruder. I was considering the Icon Tank bag because it also has a helmet holder attachment (I am not a big fan of Icon and I am leery of the quality of their products after owning a pair of Icon glove that were horrible for me). I am interested and curious about which Technic tank bag Bike51 is using as it sounds like it would be a good to have, and I can use it interchangeable on my VFR or Intruder. Please let me know which Technic Tank bag you are using Bike51 and thank you for the insightful information.

I have used several of their products on several bikes, and find it all to be well designed and built.

    Tank Bag

Sorry Ed, it was a Dowco "Rally Pack". Go to JCWhitney.com, click on Motorcycle up top and type in tank bag. I think it is the best money can buy.

I only use the ventura pack on a trip - otherwise I unbolt it and set it aside.
The back also slips over the sissy bar on my Valkyrie so its a 2 for one deal for me. To each his own I suppose.
