    Hi,
I am a new rider/owner of a new 2007 RWB, (i have about 1700 miles on it so far),
And i noticed a couple times that when i am pushing the bike backwards out of my garage, with the engine off and in neutral, and no brakes or clutch applied, that there is a slight, not very loud squeaking, coming from perhaps the front wheel?
It doesn't happen all the time, course i wouldn't hear it with the engine running,
Just wondering if anyone else ever had that and what could cause it?
Tight brake pads or warped disc? (is it called a rotor?).
I definitely will let the dealer know about it at some point before the summer is over, if it continues.
    Thanks in advance!

Maybe if you call your bike BWR it'll make backward forward problem solved!

Seriously, a sign your brakes are warped is if the bike shakes when you brake hard at high speeds. The culprit looks like it's just the brake pads rubbing and the calipers will most likely need to be readjusted for the width of the brake pads.

Mine does the same thing I have 1300 miles .Was backing out of the garage not running and heard it .I put the bike on the stand and had my Son push on the back so I could spin the wheel freely.Going forward nothing it was quiet spinning it back wards my left side makes a light squeak at just a certain point.Sounds like the pads rubbing.I was going to call my dealer then thought no sense I mean cars do it all the time and it's only backwards and I usually don't ride backwards.I did check to see if they shimmy when I apply the breaks at a good rate of speed like 70 and at 35 and they are smooth...

Thanks for all the responses! Believe it or not i am kind of not surprised that at least a couple others have this......
Also, you know, I have seen the bike referred to as BWR in the "official" color scheme, LoL!
I have not had any brake shimmy at all, the bike is perfect in every other respect. That's why i wasn't too worried about it, like Vince described.

Jason, I will check today to see if it goes away with light brake application.

Please let us know what you find. I have the same sound from The Knight Saber when I'm truning her around in the garage (pretty much the only time she goes backwards. No shimmy at all.

Sound's fairly common (looks at thread)

hello again, sorry for the delay in getting back to you....

The sound does not go away with light brake application. It still squeaks just a little when in neutral and i am pushing it backwards and pulling the front brake (usually getting out of the garage). The noise does stop when the bike stops of course. It seems like it might be the steering or forks or something?

Incidentally, I now have broken the 2,000 mile point and also am taking a road trip to Milwaukee (from Minneapolis) this wednesday to visit one of my old college roommates... My first long trip on a motorcycle!

I found that my left rotor was running very close to the caliper bracket/secondary cylinder. So I had a shim EDM'd that sits under the rotor to space it out 0.020" to get better spacing. No squeaking at all from either of my VFRs.
