Actual freight cost varies depending on how many crates they had on the truck that came in. Sounds real to me that you would hear anything from $100-$500 from different dealers. If they got a shipment in of 10 bikes to their warehouse, the cost per bike will be much less than if they ordered in 3. You never really know what they actually have into it.

Sounds to me like, in the end, you might end up with a difference of a couple hundred bucks. A person needs to be smart in a deal and not let their "wants" make for bad decisions - but, don't let pride and $150 bucks keep you from enjoying an awesome new bike.

I LOVE the Tiger 1050. Rode one last month off the demo truck and would buy one in a second if I had the cash.

BTW - the other thing to watch for is that the dealer doesn't hold back on items that were supposed to be included with the bike. Rear seat cowl comes to mind..... A guy buys a new bike and comes back to purchase the sexy seat cowl, not realizing it was supposed to be included. Not sure if that applies on the 2007, just be aware.

A grand OTD is a pretty good deal. You are looking at @ $750 for tax and DMV alone. So they are charging you only $250 for freight and prep which is reasonable.
If it's OTD + tax then it ain't really OTD.

Remember 2 things. First, even if it's "new non current", & may not have been on their floor for long, it's 4 years old & there has been a design change. Second, you are in the middle of riding season where things just walk out the door close to sticker price so even old bikes make them money. Cash in hand is the KING of all deal makers. I don't know how bad you want that bike but if you can wait till off season there will be better deal to be had. $8k is close to what I almost paid for a 08 so your OTD price for a 07 should be $7k. Good luck

Good point Tink. Make sure the seat cowl, grab handles, the little plastic covers that go over the holes when the handles are removed, manual and small tool kit are with the bike with you buy it. All of these items are included in the price. the tool kit should at least have the wrench for adjusting the chain with its extension handle.

Forgot to mention in my above post, the most important thing is that YOU ARE HAPPY with what you paid. Some will pay more, some will pay less, but in the end its you that has to live with the deal.

    LOL!

    Don't Worry. Be Happy

Repeat this as many times as is necessary to put yourself into a trance.

Gotta tell you dudes, for a brand new bike the dude that is going to be the happiest is the dude who pays the least. All the rest of that other is BS.

I called that dealership in Hicksville about the Candy Red 07' for 6995, was very tempting.
