My progressive claim rep said they are supposed to settle all total loss claims within 7 days. I have to say I was worried and upset at first, but they came through and because of that I have already swapped this new bike to that policy and will keep progressive.

Glad to hear your ok and the Insurance finaly did its job.

find out how much they will sell the engine for? I have a project to replace the ecu that needs a engine to test on, it might survive the experimenting long enough to be rebuilt.

As for the old bike (#901111), progressive got it from the local Honda dealer and had it towed to the auto pool. So the bike is out of my custody, control, and care. I have no access to it anymore. I bet it's probably been through auction or very soon to go if not.

I want to thank all you guys for the kind wishes and good words of support. I love the VFR and as someone else said in this thread, probably wouldn't own a street bike if it wasn't for the RWB 07. But the second part of that is this forum, full of a great bunch of fellow riders and enthusiasts that have made me feel like family from the start. That alone is worth buying the "second" new bike!

    Thanks again.

Best part of your story is that you are physically ok. Bikes can always be replaced. I just bought an 07 RWB demo with 1300 miles for $5500. I'm having back surgery tomorrow so I won't be able to pick it up for at least one month, maybe 2. Thank God you were smart enough to be wearinig the propper gear. Your story is prompting me to buy a pair of boots. Good luck with the new ride! Good luck with the shoulder too. I did the same thing as you did and it still pops in and out when I do something stupid.

did you buy that bike in Joplin Missouri? I saw one advertised there and planned to go buy it, but it was sold, so I got the new one. Looks like mine should be here by Monday. Due to my schedule I'm not sure I can get mine until the 23 or 24th.

Bought it in Des Plaines, IL. A block away from where I grew up. My other bike is a TLR, which is a little harder on the body. I figure the VFR should be easier on the back, and the wife can actually ride with me with being in pain after a block. I can't wait to ride it. Too bad I'll be waiting for a couple of months.

I'm a bit late to this thread. But glad to see that you made it through that with no problems and minimal physical damage to yourself!

And you have a new bike soon! Good for you! Keep the rubber side down this time!

Let me pile on the 'Grats and glad you're ok (even though I've already posted that in this thread) and I know Progressive farily well. Glad to see they treated you well!

BTW, I'm borderline convinced that the Anniversary edition has two cans of good Karma mixed into the paint job. Glad you're healing ok.

    Thanks, Doc!

Good story, thanks for the pix and the insurance info. Good gear stories keep slackers like me on the straight and narrow.
