I bought a set of case savers (crash guards) for my '86 VF500. The packaging states they fit 84 and 85 VF500. I assumed (yeah, I know...) that they would fit my '86, but they don't appear to. Is the frame and engine mounting that different on the '86 or am I just a 'tard? Assuming I'm not a 'tard, these are for sale. I just want what I have into them, so $37 shipped and they are yours! Here's the ebay auction that I won: Honda Interceptor engine guard case saver crash guard: eBay Motors (item 130402046367 end time Jun-26-10 13:05:14 PDT). According to the packaging, these fit the following: - VF1000F 1984 - VF750F 83-84 - VF700F 84-85 Email gnemish@nycap.rr.com or PM me if interested. Thanks,
I had my 84 motor in an 86 frame. It is now in an 84 frame. I did not see any difference in the motor mounts. There are differences in the radiator mounts (86 rad is wider), rad down-hose mount (84-85 tube wraps inside the frame, 86 tube is outside the frame), various cable/hose tabs are slightly different, top subframe bolts (86 threads into the main frame, 84-85 requires a washer and nut).
