I started this work a couple weekends back. I'm bout to start my work week so I wanted to post the current progress of this build.

The bike looked great from a distance last year. All I did was patch up a few spots where she had a couple low speed drops in loose gravel. The frame slider I built last season saved it from real damage. This season durring getting it started I had a carb dump fuel everywhere and caused some minor paint issues on the belly.

I figured it was a good time to knock out all the work I wanted done on this old bike.
After the carbs were removed, cleaned & reinstalled, I got it running well, then started tearing it down.

The BIG mod was 2001 Suzuki TL1000R Inverted forks found at a bone yard for $100.

Heli Bars were gonna be a no-go so a bar needed built to match rise and pullback, as well as risers mounted to to tripple clap. Bottom bearing were a prefect fit on the strearing head, upper had to have the race and bearing changed to a roller type.

Inverted forks, 6 piston brakes, wheel & big rotors installed...

Before I tore it all down for paint prep, I decided to clean up and seal up the tail light and undertail a bit. Still playing with the final product. That will wait till after paint.

Before the heat made me quit yesterday I got a single body panel prepped & in prime.

Well, off to work. On midnites till friday am. Will jump back on the build then...

I like the exhaust paint a lot. I feel like my exhaust sticks out really bad with the golden color on my silver bike.

Exhaust work finished up today. All buttoned up and pipe back on, now in header wrap.

Several Body panels in stages of paint.

3 More parts, still need to repair. SLower than I wanted it to move faster, but paint, bondo, filler & glaze only dries so fast...

The only part of the VFR's that Honda skimped on was the headers/ collector.....they look so much better painted. I'm doing mine black, at the moment they are a rusty brown colour!!!

VFRhusband, the bike will look a treat when done!!!!
