VF500 Saddle Bags

Just wanted to post some pics of the saddlebags I got.

They are universal, and they fit my VF500 very well.




They are Ogio saddlebags. I had a Gift Card for a Motorcycle store so I decided to spend it on these.
They are universal and they sit well. I rode with them for a few hours last night and had no issues. They weren't fully loaded but I had some stuff in them.

The seat does sometimes have issues closing with the straps going under them but a bit of gimicking will make it work.

Best thing is....they should fit another bike :tongue:

 

Looking at the side view image, it looks like they are sitting on the exhaust but they are not.

Also the bottom of the bags have heat shields

Thanks! I was looking at Ebay too.

Only reason I didn't go with Ebay was not knowing how well they'd fit and the hassle to return stuff.

Bigmac, how does the tail bag stay on? Do you have to remove the grab handle on the bike?

 

slowbird, thats the one thing, i want a tail bag but it seems I have to remove the grab handle too, not sure what to do. possibly saddlebags but i want to stay away from a tank bag

Try swapiing the bags around - the "uptilt" on the opposite end may give you better muffler clearance

You should be able to shorten up the Velcro cross straps to lift the bags a bit higher.

The shape of the Givi bags allows them to run parallel to the mufflers, a pretty good distance away from them

The grab handle shouldn't be difficult to remove. Should you? I dunnoh. I like mine....it's convenient to grab when moving the bike around.

I use a tank bag. I don't mind it. Very convenient.

I should tighten those straps up....you're right.

Regarding the direction they face....aren't they supposed to be with the pointier side facing back?

I don't really have any muffler clearance issues and they don't get hot at all.
