Many older BMW's have a built in throttle locking mechanism. Looks like the Kaoko is not made to fit a VFR.

    There are other devices:

BrakeAway Motorcycle Cruise Control - webBikeWorld

Somebody said that the Throttlemeister is dangerous and was difficult to operate. Maybe this dude has it installed on the left instead of the right.

A great modification to a Throttlemeister is to clamp a 6" Stilson to it and weld it in place adding a place to rest your hand or as an attention getter to pick up some really really weird chicas.

Yes, they do make one for the 800's. Do you have one installed on your bike? Any info on whether or not they plan to make some for the 750's or the 1200's? They look more substantial than the plastic gadgets with the rests.

Now I'm wondering if one were to install one of those plastic jobs on both bar ends they would act as elevons, good for picking up really weird chicas that love to fly?

I just installed the Kaoko on my 6th Gen (took about 10 minutes).. and my first impressions are that i would definitely reccomend it over the throttle meister.... it is easier to engage and disengage.. and the biggest plus for me is the looks.. it looks just like the stock bar end and you barely notice its there unless your looking for it.

Edit: I have read on another forum that these won't work with HeliBars, as for heated grips I will find out when it get's closer to winter.

I tried to fit a Vista Cruise to my 1200 and it doesnt fit very well but I bought a NEP cruise and it works perfectly with just a small bit of filing.

got the NEP CC-3 today. didnt like it right away; it was either on or off UNTIL, i removed my grip with compressed air (rubber tip for my air nozzle available as a kit at most hardware stores)
Then installed the NEP cruise, then re-installed the grip.
    What a difference!
You have to make room for the NEP! Then its easy cruisin!
Well, unless I'm full turn left, it hits my zero grav windscreen and upper cowl a bit, and on full right, it touches my Axio tank bag.
(with heli bars) but not using it at those turns anyways.
Yeah, its lagging on uphills and too much on downhills, but easy to roll the throttle when adjusted right. Aren't you paying enough attention riding anyways?!?! If I want to be lazy (electronic cruise) I'll ride my CAGE!!

I have fitted the crucon / vista throttle lock to my 2007 VFR with helibars and its brilliant on long motorway hauls. (Its exactly the same as the one shown in post #9 above.) Initially I contemplated installing it as shown in the manfacturers literature but was unhappy about it blocking access to the engine cut-off switch. So I had a search on the web and eventually found someone had kindly posted up an alternative pictorial install guide for VFR 800 owners - where the link bar is located beneath the handlebars rather than above. The only change required was to slightly shorten the set lever to avoid it hitting the tank on full lock, and to thin down the mounting bracket slightly to fit beside the levers.

I put a Vista Cruise on my VFR about 2-weeks ago. Its OK, but doesn't seem to want to stay locked for more than a minute or so. I've played with it and it will give my right hand a rest, but after reading thread and watching videos of the Kaoka Cruise, I ordered one from TwistedThrottle...$125 with shipping, so its still a little cheaper than the Throttle Meister.
