Who said I hate it? Baseball on tv is even more annoying. I have a close relative that coaches soccer at the high school varsity level and it's interesting to watch World Cup with him. Fact remains though, pro futbol players are huge crybabies on the field and vuvuzelas are uber annoying.

Don't you have something better to do with your first post on a bike forum than talk about soccer?

Sorry VFR World I didnt mean to start a soccer war !
I thought some of the comments were pretty funny.
As for those vuvuzelas (thanks for the spelling vfourbear). A few years ago, I took a plastic horn to a 50 over game of cricket, blew it once, lost it. Security guards swarmed on me like a scene out of Dog The BountyHunter. I suppose they figure while they are blowing those things they arent lighting fires.

That's ok, it's harder to find a topic that doesn't start war around here.

With their economic and social problems it's a wonder SA can host the event at all. Good on them. I suppose creating even more problems for the whole world to watch over plastic horns seems silly. But it's too bad because one usually gets to hear crowd singing and chanting.

ok, so USA ekes out a win at the tail end of a tense contest, one in which they knew halfway through they had to win to advance.

    Well done gentlemen.

I still think Brasil has the best looking fans .....esp the females.

Aside: thank you again Brits for the free goal.......:joker:

Currently watching the USA vs Ghana game live at work with the American, at 1 goal each he is very loud and generally swearing a lot.

Isn't it futbol every place in the world except the USA? Football is that other game played with pads and helmets where you knock the snot out of each other and usually score more touchdowns than goals. Probably not Spain is now changed to possibly Spain. Have a great World Cup!

i think you are right, in most places it is some form of FOOTBALL,
however in Italy it is CALCIO, (which basically means "kick")........

I am also rooting for Spain now (was rooting for Italy -frown-).....
It would be nice to see someone win who hasn't won it before,
But Brasil def looks like they could win i think.
