What a great job you have done for that vet and his father.
I am sure the father is very appreciative of your skills used to help his son.
Your workman ship and skills are first class.

Dude, no shit that is just awesome, you did a beautiful job! That was very generous, and you gave it a wonderful facelift. My riding buddy just sold his nighthawk 650, and those things really move, that young soldier is going to be the shizznit around town - that's some good karma you're making there, VFRhusband :^)

Well, this is how the old girl hit the road today. Dad loves it, except for the drag bar, but thats what the boy wanted. Bit hard starting and after a short test ride I brought it back in to adust the cluch cable before a final test. Second time out it buried the spedo at 85mph just before the top of 4th gear. Corners well at speed. Low speed turns are rough by todays standards, but what you would expect from a 28 year old motorcycle. The better brakes and rotors made a notible differnce in stopping power. Soon after these pics, kid took it out for a short 5 mile trip to his grandfather's, who still rides an 81 CB750C. Think he wanted to show off. Thanks for all the kind words on this build from all of you, this one was alot of fun.

Enjoyed my last day off today. Took a 60 mile ride with Dale on his CB600 and me on the FZ1. The point was to go hit spots that had a decent summer weight riding jacket for him. The Nitehawk ran fine. No issues to speak of. He did miss a gear in some LOW speed traffic once, but thats it. He said seeing me and the wife all geared up made him think and he had to get some stuff as his funds permited. He still needs gloves ansd wants some up-armored jeans when he can swing it. He ended up with this Shift Backdraft mesh w liner & a day visor for his HJC lid...

Judging by some of the pics you got up here in the non insider world, your HOUSE is where the boobies are.
