    Hi there,

Just got a 'new' 00 VFR 800 & I find wind noise very bad. If I stand up on pegs noise goes away. I am 6'1" & had a naked bike before & never had this problem. Seems that OEM screen is directing all the air to the underside of my full face helmet. Bike is completely stock. Even with earplugs the noise is still annoying. Can anyone suggest a solution to my problem.

    Thanks very much.

    Hey, and welcome aboard.

There are a lot of different threads on this subject, and some of it (like always) will be personal opinion.

If you type something like "wind screen" into the search function on this forum (towards the top right) it'll probably come back with 20 or more threads that you can peruse, and gather information for yourself.

    Good luck!

I think the touring wind screens are not the answer IMO. You still get the buffeting from the windscreen, its just moved a little bit higher. I cut done the screen on my bike with great results. I found that by standing up slightly while riding and getting my helmet into the "clean" air that the noise was dramatically reduced. So I cut my screen down so its even with the edges of the fairing and haven't looked back. The wind off the screen now hits me in the chest instead of just underneath my helmet.
