Ya just bought a 84 Honda V45 Magna less than 2 weeks ago. So far I am very happy with it! I had been away from a bike for a number of years, my last bike prior to this was a 1978 GS 550 Suzuki that I really liked, prior to that I had 500 Honda and a 350 Honda. Prior to that I had a Honda SL 70 when I was 13 years old, the SL 70 had the spoked wheels , looked like a miniature motorcycle, great little bike, did 57 MPH with wind at my back. Mine was broken in by the guy at the local Honda shop, guy drove it home for lunch, prior to me buying it . There was 4 of us with the same bike, the other 3 had XL 70, same bike just newer, mine beat them all by close to 5mph, we figured the reason was because of the Honda shop guy broke it in properly, while the other guys got new bikes and went full speed right away. My very first mini bike if you can call it that, was a Motoskeeter, made by Moto Ski snowmobile, it was a lemon from the start, put a couple area mechanics into institutions, if ya catch my drift.

I got some questions that I will ask in the proper forum, after first doing searches. Already checked out someone that previously asked one of my questions....Wanted to know when the fan is supposed to come on, seems it wont come on until it is over halfway on temp gauge? Mine has not reached that temperature yet, so I will assume it works? Travelled only about 200 miles since I have had it, mostly short rides daily.

Welcome Herb and don't sweat the temp until it is almost in the red......wish I was kidding.

On my 84 V45, my fan wouldn't come on until about 3/4 of the way toward hot and would turn off at about 1/2 way. What TOE CUTTER says is also true. Enjoy the ride and welcome to the forum!
