25 years ago today, I walked into Depot Honda and took delivery of my 1000R. MAN, she looked good all polished up in the show room. It had arrived the day before but they couldn't get to it till the next. It was pouring down rain and they figured I would just let them deliver it but I said NO WAY, open the doors and let me out of here. I did about 100 miles then spent the next few hours drying her off and discovering new things about her. There was nothing else on the street that looked like her. It's been a great haul and I look forward to 25 more!!

After all this time, I still give her a quick look when walking by or smile when I come out of a store and see her. The sign of a very nice relationship.

I bought my first VF500 25 years ago this summer. Unfortunately I sold it 3 years later. As with all my bikes that I have owned over the years, I often wonder where it is. I suspect that I would be very depressed to see it in a junkyard somewhere or something. Better to remember it the way it was when I sold it: immaculate. Congrats on keeping yours so long! Not many people can say they have owned a bike that long.

I was in high school when the '86 bikes came out. I had a poster of each bike in my locker and always said that I want each one of them some day. I love your story. I wish that I had the same opportunity to have bought those bikes new, but being in school at the time, there was no chance of that.
