I heard that Deere has a new model coming out. Same drivetrain but has no seat or steering wheel.

Target market is for the farmer who lost his ass and doesn't know which way to turn.

    Stick with something new!!!...Good idea.

Then stick with a Japanese bike...I've owned BMW and they're not that exciting. I think most of them are underpowered and overrated...the boxer is kind of cool but guaranteed to die a molten death on a hot day as it becomes aged.

My friend payed 20k for an 851 superbike in 1990 and the bike still looks quite amazing. He has put thousands of dollars into it over the years...you dont want to go that route unless you like to and have loads of money and loads of time.

Very finicky bike and he's a professional mechanic...so always working on it. I would prefer to be on the road..

KTM Superduke looks pretty awesome...but i know nothing of it...surprisingly i heard it is similar to a GSXR 1000 on the track...Theres the juice if you wanted and if you wanted to do some hyper-retard stuff you could do that also..

Too many choices nowadays...sorry i cant help you..

I like that brushed aluminum look on the fairing, engine casing and the side covers. Very sharp.

Remember that CB1000R that Honda never brought over?
    2008 Honda CB1000R

If this had come state-side, I would have gladly traded my Z1k in for it.

..and yet another bike "they" say will not be available and somehow becomes available. Somebody should explain to the marketing guys at Honda et al that HD tried this for years and look where it got them. The real deal is how many dudes are really going to buy a bike like this and how many are just weenie wanking? Not wanting to embarrass anyone so I won't toss out the real question which is how many dudes can ever come close to riding a bike like this? This excludes KC who is actually Mick Doohan or Mike Hailwood in disguise.

Interestingly enough, I was just on the Honda US website to see what the six speed gear ratios were for the VFR were compared to the CB1100 (that info wasn't on the site) and got asked a brief survey.

The survey purports to seek input on two things:
    1. ABS and should it be required or an option on all bikes or not needed.
    2. Am I interested in the CB1100 and at what price.

For example, what did I think of the following price points: $11,999, $11,499 or $10,599. (I don't know if those are the exact price points, but that's close.)

The price survey choices were "way too high" "somewhat too high" etc.

Then it asked what I thought a good price would be and for general comments.

    Interesting huh?

I would buy a CB 1100 if it was reasonably priced, 5 speed gearbox and all.

The US has much more buying power than Canada. Its hard to go to a dealer here and NOT feel chiseled to death.
The VFR 1200 and the CBR 1100 are close to $20 k here. It's friggen ridiculousness!!

Far to much greed due to lower demand and protected markets here..that may also be why are piddly little population is also doing better economically than the US.

    Anyhow I digress....

I participated in another Triumph demo day last weekend and I'm very impressed with their machines and price points. Lot of them have the 6 speed transmission. The Sprint looks like what the sport-tourer that the VFR has been for years complete with SSSW AND 6speed gears, not to mention a price $5g less than Honda as I recal. My dream bike right now is their Tiger 1050.

The problem with triumphs are that they guzzle gas! The Sprint was one of the least fuel efficient bikes for its size. I agree they appear to be a great value and they look nice as well.

+1 on the Tiger 1050. I'd love to have one.

I thought that tiger was so smooth on and off throttle that it could just as well have been electric. It was extremely comfortable for me (at least on the 14mile route) and with the bags I felt like I could ride that thing anywhere. The price for a 2010 was around $12k.
