got my 91 in 95 with 4000. it got 74,000 now and counting. nothing has been spared as far as keeping it a reliable bike. I would still ride it anywhere in the gud old US of A.

There was a 4th gen for sale in SD a few years ago with over 105K on Craigslist. The guy briefly joined the forum who bought it. I have not see him since though. He said it ran good though. My bike has 56k, so I am still just breakin' her in. I know some guys in europe have exceeded 200K, but I do not know if that was the original motor, or a rebuilt one.

Seems like I saw a thread on here about a messenger that did over 400k on one, rebuilt the engine, then did another 400k.

I've had my 99 FiX since February 2008, when I bought it was showing just over 25000 and now it's just about to pass 71000 and going as well as ever. As has been said many times before, look after one of these and mileage just isn't an issue.

I love Honda's engineering, of all the Japanese manufacurers they seem to make the best product wether it be bikes or cars. Especially the vfr, it's not as exotic as the Italian bikes but they seem to me to have got the balance of disirability and reliability just right. Thoughts please....

I recently upgraded to my 08 VFR with 12-miles on it when I got it. I was riding a 98 CBR600 F3 which had 44k on it. Handed it down to my son and still runs like new. Had 12k when I got it 3 years ago. I can't wait to put some serious miles on my VFR. :)

Like you, I have always been impressed with Honda engineering. Built to last a lifetime!

Not sure I agree with you 100% there - I also run a 98 Ducati 900SS. I know which one I trust to take me 75 miles a day in all weathers to work, give me 50ish mpg, still come up shiny when I get the bucket and sponge out and do anything I ask of it, and which one I'd rather have on a sweeping A road on a sunny day. It's not the VFR that people stand and look at and want to talk to you about, there's just something about the Ducati...
