why not? I love the VFR engine, and i dont do much of touring. I have my Buell for the fun twisties and a SV650 for the mundane day to day riding. So a VFr motard to play around in!
also have to say the styling on the bike is too old with a fat tail. I guess you either love it or hate it, and i hate it! that engine deserves better!

Tossing around the idea of building my own frame around the VFR engine. With a custom airbox, undertail exhaust etc. I think i will still have issues with getting a small radiator with fans to fit in front of the engine! as of now i looked into the option of using a 83" honda VT750 radiator, only to come to find out that the radiator is mounted vertically instead of horizontaly. Common sense tells me that if i mounted that radiator horizontally, it will effect the coolant flow. Am i right in assuming this?

I wouldn't think orientation would affect cooling performance, so long as the same side is facing the incoming airstream, and you keep the same inlet/outlet (not sure of the importance of relative height, but isn't inlet normally below outlet?).

The question is really one of whether gravity affects the flow of coolant through a radiator. So long as the system is under pressure (not mixed with a bunch of air), I would think it's going to push coolant through every passage it can, with gravity having little effect on this.

If you need a better look at one, I've got an '85 VT700 in my garage: http://www.blinkenbyte.org/motorcycles/vt700c/vt700c-second-bike.jpg

thanks paul. when i start piecing parts together, i might give you a visit. I am also considering an option like the buell 1125CR side radiators. they seem to be smaller, and if i can make some classy covers for them like the benelli TNT, it might not look so hideous! just looking at different possiblities! With a custom frame, i guess the possiblities are endless!
