I wouldnt but I like the plastics.
If you do it, please use a round headlight.
Actually if you use two round headlights I might LOVE it.

Do what you do and do it right and my house wll give you props.

I was going to do the whole streetfighter theme and remove the fairings and replace the gauges with a digital one on my vf500 interceptor. The new front fairing was going to come off of the z1000 Kawasaki. I did chop the back tail down and tucked a oval led trailer style tail/brake light under the seat. I decided though to do a custom fairing install for a buddy of mine laid down his 07 gsxr 750 and je gave me all his old plastic that just had some scrtchea and a few spots that were cracked and I'm currently fitting them to the bike and so far it's going good

How did the width of the suzuki compare to the vf? The zuk should have been much wider.

Im also doing the Streetfighter to my 86 700. My questions is this: If I want to do a fork mount dual 3.5" or 4" (Domintor or Aztek) then what is a good way to get rid of the front braket for current headlight/speedo/oil cooler? Has anyone done this? If so, where was the oil cooler relocated to? Just looking for some ideas...

No the width of the Honda and the Suzuki are about the same A little different but not much the good thing is that plastic is easily conformable. I did use the stock gxsr stay bracket and connected it to the stock mounting bracket on the frame I did how ever make a 2" extension that mount between the frame and the stay bracket because my clip ons were hitting the fairing.

Hey jeffw hen I was going to do the streetfighter theme I took the stock stay bracket off and relocated the oil cooler down by the radiator. It tuck perfectly inside of the lower cowl well I say perfectly but I had to do a little bit of cutting on the cowl but it came out great. With the speedo I was either going to use a gps to track my speed but then I would not have any of my other gauges and then I decided to order a electrical speedo adapter that utilizes the vf speedo cable which comes from Dakota digital gauges and then I was either going to get a Dakota gauge the has a speedo/tach/temp/oil light/blinker lights or I was going to use a gsxr gauge and wire it in to the stock harness. As for the lights you can order ones that mount to the forks

I guess you just shortened up the oil cooler return/feed hoses? That seems like the best way, would def clear up the front forks. About the Dakota speedo though: is it universal with the factory speedo cable, or do ya need to rig up magnets?

It is universal and no you don't have set up any mags. I talked to the guy at Dakota and he said that your speedo cable screws right into it and he said it should work on my bike here is the link Mechanical Speedometer Cable Adaptors

Well jeff once u convert the bike to an electronic sending unit u can pickup a speedo off of eBay because I've found that it is easier to get an elctric one than a mechanical one plus with it being elec. you can pickup a combo speedo/tach all in one gauge. You don't have to go with the Dakota ones I just think they are cool looking gauges
