I have a 99 vfr 800, it has 161,000 miles. A few days ago it started to bogg down , buck and jerks on accel from all speeds. I had a radar dectector and tom tom hooked up. I disconnected them and for a short while it seemed to get better. After an half hour it started again and is getting worse. The battery was replaced last fall. I have check the r/r to see if it might be low voltage. It is charging 13.5 volts at idle and above 5000 rpms. The maintenance records show the fuel filter had been changed 10000 miles ago. The are no fi lights coming on. I have checked all of the hoses and wires. I will check all of the grounds tonight. I dont have much experience with the bike. I just got from my father who recently passed away. Any ideas would be great. Thanks

sorry for your loss - did your father put all those miles on that thing then? Probably would have been a great guy to know!

good luck getting your bike figured out and welcome to the forum.

He had 3 bikes when he died. He had the VFR, a 1999 Honda Blackbird, 80000 miles and a 97 Vmax, 139,000 miles. He retired 10 years ago and started riding. He lived alone and only took back roads. He had been everywhere in the south east. He died of liver failure. My buddy owns the VFR now. We are going to the tail of the dragon to spread his ashes next weekend if we can get the VFR up and running. Thanks for the info. I will figure it out. Mike
