I was working in the driveway yesterday on an R/R wiring issue, and when I took the bike off the center stand to roll it back in the garage, I noticed a tube on the ground that wasn't there before. My friend and I looked all over and couldn't find anywhere that seemed to be missing a connection. I started the bike up and let it run, but nothing came gushing out (though I guess the tube could be for air, or if it fell off yesterday, maybe it was already disconnected and whatever fluid already leaked out? :frown: )

It looked corroded on one end (maybe charred?), didn't smell like any fluid in particular, was dry (i.e. no fluid dripping) when I picked it up. There's a faint red stripe down the whole tube, and there's a clip around it that doesn't look like other clips on my bike.

Does anyone recognize this tube or have suggestions where it may have come from?
    Here are the measurements, too:
    Length: about 14"
Diameter from the outsides: 1/2" (almost 9/16")
    Diameter of the opening: 5/16"

    thanks.

Probably the tube that drains water/fuel from the pocket surronding the fuel filler cap......nothing to worry about, but now , without that tube. your bike pees like a girl !

Check the wire clip on the centrestand mount. There should be 2 drain hoses there. I can't remember what they are for, but they connect up by the top of the rear shock.

It could be the battery vent tube, something you very much want back where it belongs...

It's the tank vent tube. I would replace it when you get a chance. The clip is supposed to hold the top in place.

It exits down the right hand side rear engine mount and into the clip along with the other pipes. The battery tube does not have a clip on it, it's just a push fit.
