I am curious as to why I meet these bikers that brag about how low the mileage is on their bike..I bought mine to ride it.

    That is a good question!

In one breath a person may boast about the low mileage and the great deal they got on the bike and then spout off about how many miles they have ridden in one day, one week or one season. People are weird especially when they are around other people with bikes.

Have you ever walked into or past a group of riders and overheard the total BS that is being tossed about, you think to yourself, "if they could only hear what is spewing outa their pie holes"! It can be entertaining sometimes just to sit and listen. I've been in one or two of these sessions over the years.

I guess I can be just as full of shit as the next guy eh.............

I guess there are justifying their inadequacies of being pussy posers. Low mileage = not riding.

I can see one reason why they would be happy aobut low miles: resale/purchase.

I'll freely admit I'll pay more for a bike with 2k miles on it than the exact same bike (condition, etc.) with 34k miles on it. That said, I'll be putting a gajillion k miles on my new lady..!

I met this guy this weekend who kept bragging about his VFR only has 7200 miles on it for a 1992. I just kept thinking why bother having it then . if it is going to sit in your garage and collect dust.. people are people I guess
