Beautiful bike and quality workmanship. Love your project !!!!
    Love those carbon fiber panels.
I wish you could do a little tutorial on those. If you felt like it.

Finished up the baffles this weekend. I'm using 22 gauge, 2.5" OD, perforated 409 stainless with 1/8" holes on 3/16" spacing. The 2.5" is the same diameter as the pipe so I had to make a slice on 2 sides and overlap each of the cuts. I then put on a hose clamp to degrease the OD down a bit. A few whacks and it seated down to the rivets, about an 1 1/2". Very, VERY snug fit. A few rivets hold it in place but probably overkill.

At the other end, the cans end cap ID and the tube's OD are both 2.5". Again, a VERY snug fit. I cut the length to seat against the end cap. Once the cap is in place, all is rock solid. No concerns with movement once things heat up.

No packing for now, I want to hear it like this first.

    Left side cut and in.

    It is not a pipe.
    Sheet metal.

On my Vf 1000R chopper I used baffles with slip on tapered mufflers over. Sounded perfect.
No "packing" to blow out all over the environment.

H-D style baffle welded to 1-3/8 tube and inserted into the 1.5 inch tube header.

Just because it has no "packing" does not mean it will be loud.
Fiberglass packing just blows out very quickly anyway.

From what I read Hop is saying it is a perforated pipe...is this not correct?

"I'm using 22 gauge, 2.5" OD, perforated 409 stainless with 1/8" holes on 3/16" spacing."
