At 1:15 AM Japanese Standard Time I took possession of a zero mile, 2007 RWB!

She came with spanking new Metzlers that now have only a hundred miles on them. Good times. I'll submit myself for the 6th gen militia shortly!

That's all! I'll get back in my box!

Congratulations and welcome to the party! If you like it half as much as I like my red '07 you will be a very happy man indeed.

Is it weird that a zero mile bike has 100 mile tires on it?

Gongratulations!!! I assume you put the 100 miles on the Metzlers?

Not to be "indelicate" (mostly to torture myself), how much did she set you back? Lastly, why JST instead of EST (internet purchase)??

    Regardless, ENJOY...

Ok, Pictures are being uploaded to the laptop as we speak!

    A couple clarifications:

    1) the bike & tires had zero miles on them. I put exactly 100 miles on both the first day.

    2) The OTD price was about $8400 but there was stuff thrown in (deal on boots, cover & lock) and I'm good with that. Was it the best deal in the country? No. It was the last one they had however & I'm quite happy with the buy!

    3) Why JST? That's a longer story but here's the short version of it. I got it in the US (Eastern) but the significance of the time in Japan is actually in consideration of the name. I'm considering naming her Sylia - after Sylia Stingray of BGC fame (Bubble Gum Crisis). Another name from that series - Sylvie - is also in the running. Why Sylia is in the lead is the character's birthday:

May 30th, 2010. Yea, there may be some destiny in that call.

So the time in Japan for a Japanese bike matches that of my second favorite character in the series.

I'm uploading pics to somewhere & I'll post them tonight!

My first bike also was an '86 VF500F. It is still one of my favorites which is why I still own one. Your 2nd & 3rd bikes are winners too. Unfortunately, after my first bike, I switched to CBRs for a while, then came back after I realized they weren't as good as the Interceptors. At least you've stayed loyal. Congratulations on the new bike.

Yea, I actually thought about the hard bags but went without them. I've always had Metzlers on all three bikes!

Looks like I need to ride down in your direction!

Congrats on the purchase! I have the Metz on mine as well bit will be ripping them off the first chance i get. They have terrible traction with even the smallest amount of debris in a corner while the Conti Road Attack's i had on my previous bike held true. Have fun with the new bike!

My '07 came with the Metzlers and I actually liked them. I got 9000+ miles out of them. Maybe I just wasn't riding the bike hard enough! However, I did replace them with a set of Bridgestones.

All my bikes have had Metzlers for their entire lives, and I never had an issue with control, grip or wear. This is especially true with Charlotte whom I put 40k on in under 2 years of all-weather riding. Still it's good to hear there are other brands that are worthy of the new lady.

Still haven't settled on a name. This could take a while.
