Off topic, but I was wondering if you ever miss Demi?

I've posted some comments about this in various threads before, but I'll add them here too. I don't use a phone, so I haven't tested any phone features.

I've tried the Midland GXT radios with helmet kits. Lots of wires to get tangled up in. VOX doesn't work with wind/engine noise. PTT is a PITA. Half duplex sucks for having a normal conversation. No multimedia features. Excellent range.

I've tried the bluetooth Shark BT Multi-Interphones, $100 for the two pack on Ebay. They actually work really well and I think they're a good deal. There's a little bit of white noise when connected in intercom mode, and a little bit of wind noise picked up by the mic. Music via bluetooth is clear and noise-free, A2DP stereo, remote play/pause works with an AVRCP capable MP3 player. Plenty of volume, even with earplugs and highway speeds. I only got rid of these because I had problems switching between channels, but that turned out to be caused by the other devices I was using.

I just got the Midland BT2D because I found them for $185 (dual pack). We've only used them once, but so far they are great. The noise cancellation feature really works, no wind noise at all in the speakers, and the volume increases automatically to compensate for noise. Intercom volume seems a little low, but I had no problem hearing with earplugs. They connect quickly and easily. Bluetooth music is A2DP stereo with full AVRCP control (play/pause/skip). The units are small, thin, and super light. They also come with aux-in cables so you can connect non-bluetooth MP3 or GMRS radio, something I won't use.

I wanted to get the SENA SMH-10 based on reviews, but I thought they looked a little bulky and they were quite a bit more expensive than the Midlands.

Scala Rider Q2. Got the multiset (2 person) for under $250 US on ebay. My wife has her own bike and we can chat up to 1000 meters apart with voice activation. It is also bluetooth and phone calls are hands free and crystal clear. For music it is not great, sound is weak at best. Also has FM radio which I have not tried. The device makes our rides much safer and more entertaining. Battery life has never been a problem, so far we have gone up to 6 hours with no issue. It installs easily enough and can be moved helmet to helment with relative ease. Brother-in-law and his wife also have a set, so it is very useful for us as any rider can pair with any 2 other riders. IMO it is a good system and worth the investment but I hve no other experience to compare to.
