Searched the forums and could not find any help so here goes...Found some new body parts for my 86 VFR700 project. One problem, they're "Miami Vice" black/teal/purple. WOW they're butt ugly! I would post a photo but it would probably get flagged as indecent and offensive. Anyway, The paint has to go and I am on a "can't pound a needle in with a hammer" tight budget. So Color Rite is out and Duplicolor/Krylon here I come. Anyone done the work to figure out what might match (as close as possible) Shata White, The Red and the Candy Blue? Black/Teal/Purple? Why not pink while they were at it?

I found a good match for the red but it was an old can of VHT "Racing Red" Caliper paint I found under a cabinet behind some boxes.

But the VHT site doesn't list that color anymore and the Red Caliper paint they do sell is way too dark.

valspar makes a real nice red it goes by the name of cherry and you can get it at lowes if you spray it on over a white primer it really makes it pop. the front fender is factory paint and its very close these pics kinda look oarnge but its from the flash its almost like a porsche red very nice i like it better than the white.

And if you're looking for a nice black in a rattle can, head down to your Mercury marine dealer and get some phantom black. It's super easy to spray, it flows out nicely, and is ultra glossy, just like Mercury outboards. I would like to find a match for Yamaha liquid silver in a rattle can, any ideas??

Anybody have a source for that pink that is used on those pink flamingoes that ya stick in your yard. I think it's a Harley-Davidson color.

Agfirecat, Very nice Red! I am on the fence about going with the stock colors (and buying the decals) or going red. I do like the red with the white wheels, like the 90 VFR's. As to the Pink Flamingo color, It is a Harley color, but only avialable on HD womens underwear avialable at all HD dealers along with HD pajamas and baby bibs.

One of the members just had a color match done for the red and the Mazda Miata red was a dead on match and was a third the price of Honda paint.

the tri-z's have some good speed to them but only having a 5 speed in them in 85 kinda sucked but were probably one of the best if not the best 2 stroke trikes for trail riding, i like the 250r's more personally, here is a pic of the one i restored last year, before and after pics of it
