    Hello. Just purchased a 1985 VF1000. It needs a little tlc. I researched a little on this site before I started my carb cleaning. Glad I read about not disassembling the carbs if you don't have to. Saved myself some grief. It's a high mileage unit (49,000 km), but everything is intact, factory exhaust isn't rotten (odd for a Canadian bike) and just in need of a good going over. It was a victim of a bad paint job, but that can wait until winter, get er together and ride.

    two things.welcome to the site lots of information floating around here...and good that you didn't take the maniflod off of the carbs when you pulled them....that just is asking for trouble....
