First of all Hi! first post. Thought i would consult the experts before I make a purchase. I am planning on getting a VFR, I want an upgrade from my ninja 650r for a nicer commute everyday. I have looked around, and I have found a 2002 with 34k miles, with Givi hard bags, Staintune Exhaust, and seargent gel seat, throttlemeister (adult owned). Asked the owner and he says Maint up to date, no valve adjustments done but he had the shop check the valves when he got fork seals done with a digital stethescope? and said it was good. Paint in good shape as well, from what he says. I got the price to 3800$ sounds good to me with all those upgrades. Well I am going to go check it out and perhaps purchase on friday, thanks for any advice you can give! Hope to be part of the VFR club soon

I think that's probably a fair price, but with that many miles I'd get the valves checked properly.

    Welcome aboard.

Ask about the wiring recall. A mark should be stamped in the vin tag if it was done.

    Good luck.

Just so there's no confusion, the recall mark will be adjacent to the VIN stamped in the right side of the steering neck, a single punch mark 10mm in front and 10mm below the first letter of the VIN. There's no "tag" there. No big deal if it's not been done, it won't cost you anything to have it done.
