I decided to replace my battery after it went dead then wouldn't hold a good charge. I bought a gel battery from Amazon.com it is the equivalent of a YTZ12S. When the battery arrived yesterday it is just a bit taller than the the battery it is replacing (about 5mm) so I cannot get the seat back on.
I thought the YTZ12S was an acceptable replacement battery?

it is "the" replacement battery, if you stick to yuasa. but you got a bobo battery so you have to deal with bobo fit....
yuasa is really the only replacement battey you should go with. (we wont get into several hundred dollar, ultra light weight, race applications etc...)
you know if you stick with yuasa you can actually get a ytz14s in there with no fitment issues....

    I agree.

Stick with stock not the "this is equivalent" ones.

I'm surprised you have to replace it though...being a 2005....I have a 1999, and just replaced the original battery yesterday....11 years old and 61,000 Kms...

mine lasted only two years as well, had to get the expensive YUASA batter here too. Battey for my CBR lasted over 9 years.
